Education and Training Connection
Position: Before and After School Child Care Aide
Date: Summer Camp, starting first week of June
Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hour days
Education and Training Connection, located in Midland County, is currently in search of a Before and After School Child Care Aide for the Bullock Creek Summer Camp Program.
Summary: Before and After School Child Care Aide will assist the Lead Teacher/Director in organizing and leading activities of children grades K-5 in classroom/gymnasium setting and during outside activities before and after school at Bullock Creek Elementary School. Will also assist with field trips.
Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer at least one year of Child Development classes and must be 18 years of age or older. CPR/First Aid Certified Preferred.
Qualifications, Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:
- Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, and teaches children creative arts skills such as simple painting, drawing, homework, songs, and similar activities.
- Follows lesson plans by teacher for reading, writing, arts, games or social skills activities.
- Takes children outside for large motor play.
- Helps children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away toys, books & supplies.
- Maintains discipline using positive methods.
- Helps with preparation and serving of afternoon snack. Includes cleaning up after snack is served.
- Assists with cleanup of classroom by using the daily check list that is in the classroom (including: sanitizing toys, tables, chairs etc.)
- Communicates and provides a level of customer service to parents of enrolled children.
- Other duties may be assigned.
