Position Summary
The National Dean of Online Nursing Education leads the delivery and quality of hybrid/online nursing programs. Reporting to the Vice President of Nursing and serving on the Nursing Executive Team, this role ensures programs meet organizational, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
This role collaborates with nursing leadership, campus teams, and support departments to maintain effective online education systems, support faculty performance, and drive student success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead hiring, scheduling, and development of online nursing faculty
- Oversee online program operations, including student outcomes and issue resolution
- Develop and manage course schedules and monitor faculty productivity
- Evaluate online curriculum delivery and support continuous improvement efforts
- Partner with campuses and departments to ensure consistent and effective course delivery
- Develop and refine systems that support high-quality online nursing education
- Support faculty training and professional development initiatives
- Collaborate across departments to align online education with broader organizational goals
- Recommend updates to policies and processes related to online education
- Maintain flexible availability to support program needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Nursing required
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive academic leadership experience in nursing
- Experience with NCLEX performance and student retention strategies
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and educational technologies
- Experience in pre-licensure nursing programs preferred

Classification: Exempt
Work Schedule: Typically 40 hours per week; may include evenings and weekends
Travel: 25–50% travel required
Work Environment: Office-based
Salary : $85,000 - $125,000
