Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our Dental Assisting Program. This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education. The primary responsibility will be to teach Dental Assistant courses. The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with one or two preparations. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation.
Requirements
- Completion of a Dental Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required
- Certifications/Licensure:
- DANB RHS and
- New Jersey Dental Radiology License/Technologist, AND
- CDA and/or
- RDA
- At least three years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, assisting with 4-handed/6-handed dentistry techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven
- Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience preferred
