Our client, an HVAC/R manufacturer’s representative based in Wisconsin is seeking a Sales Engineer to add to its team in Madison, WI. This business provides HVAC sales to a variety of commercial clients and uses a strong engineering team to consultatively sell a variety of HVAC systems and equipment. The role is based, onsite in Madison, WI, includes normal M-F hours, NO on-call hours, limited travel, and delivers ongoing training and certification programs. The role includes a highly aggressive compensation plan and comes with a strong benefit program.
The key to this role is proven past sales and a strong engineering aptitude. The incumbent will:
- Drive and promote the specification of numerous HVAC/R product lines
- Become the primary source for HVAC information to their customers
- Help mechanical contractors lay out design build projects
- Coordinate sales activities with Estimating Group and Inside Sales Group
- Understand customer needs and requirements
- Create quotations and submittals for the customer
- Create order status reports
- Develop new customers and increase sales to existing customer base
- Assist with training and developing the Inside Sales Group
- Stay current on any training required by our suppliers
Recipe for Position Success:
- Maintains high level relationships with key manufacturers and utilizes internal teams to build product champion team(s) through mentorship, leadership, and clear role assignments.
- Delivers Voice of the Field to leadership.
- Co-develop solutions and assist in implementation/advocacy to support greatest performance of the team.
- Ability to consistently build and maintain elevated relationships across all customer categories; engineers, general contractors, mechanical contractors, OEM, and owners.
- Builds, maintains, documents, and shares a robust long-term pipeline of opportunity.
Qualifications
- BS degree in technical area – BSME required
- Experience and understanding of VFD’s, Humidifiers, Boilers, Chillers, VRF, MAU’s, DOAS, RTU’s & Custom AHU’s preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
