JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Preschool Associate Teacher

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Site Supervisor

OBJECTIVES:

To administer classroom curriculum as stipulated by Site Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administers all phases of the program, with respect to educational, social, and health needs of the child.
• Plans and prepares classroom materials.
• Makes a continued effort at professional growth by attending all in-service training meetings.
• Attends all parent meetings as scheduled by the Site Supervisor
• Promotes active parent involvement.
• Plans on-site field trips to enhance the curriculum.
• Adheres to early childhood education philosophy with respect to teaching techniques.
• Works closely with Site Supervisor to assure satisfactory progress of each child in the program.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor.

MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold a Valid Associate Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credential or
• Completion of 12 Child Development Units and proof of Associate Permit Application submitted.
• Actively participate in all required CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) trainings and apply CLASS principles, strategies, and best practices consistently within their classroom environment.
• Maintain a valid permit.
• One year working experience in early childhood education or related field.
• Signed statement of acknowledging requirement to report suspected child abuse.
• Physical exam & T.B. Clearance
• Proof of Immunizations: Influenza, pertussis, and measles or a medical waiver as per Health

& Safety Code 1596.7995 effective September 1, 2016.

• Fingerprint Clearance (Background Check)
• Professional demeanor that establishes a desirable example for children.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, bending, pushing and pulling, sitting and ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Speaking and hearing to exchange information.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
