What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of School position at Edquisitive Montessori?
We're hiring a Head of School for our Fair Oaks campus, and I wanted to write this myself instead of posting a job description.
If you've spent the last 5 years leading inside a district, a charter, or an early childhood program, you already know the job. You also probably know the feeling of wanting to do the work the way you know it should be done — without fighting the building to do it.
That's the seat we're trying to fill.
Edquisitive Montessori is Cognia accredited and a Texas Rising Star 4-Star school. Our Head of Schools, Melissa Zamora, has been doing Montessori for 25 years and still gets on the floor with the kids. You'd be working closely with her, leading a campus that's small enough to know every child by name.
We're not looking for a manager. We're looking for someone who lights up when they talk about three-year-olds, who knows what a good classroom feels like the second they walk in, and who's ready to build something they're proud of.
If that's you, send your resume to melissa@edquisitive.com.
And if it's not you but you just thought of someone — do us a favor and tag them. Good leaders don't usually apply to job posts. They get a text from a friend.
Qualifications:
5 years leading in a district, charter, or early childhood program
Texas Director's Credential (or willing to get it within 90 days)
Current CPR and First Aid
Bachelor's in education or a related field (master's is a plus, not a must)
A Montessori credential is a bonus but not required — we'll train the right person
Bilingual is a plus
Cleared background check (standard for licensed childcare in Texas)
