Ednovate Background

Ednovate launched its first school in 2012. Since then, we’ve grown to eight schools and are on a trajectory to reach 11 schools in just the next few years (you can read more about our schools here). Ednovate is committed to serving areas where students traditionally lack access to a quality college-prep education by building tuition-free, safe, high-performing public schools driven to create positive multi-generational change.

We are made up of world travelers, nacho connoisseurs, KPOP business owners, and Beyonce fans. We love LA and OC, and we're our students' biggest cheerleaders. We are looking to hire innovative changemakers who aim to continue our goal of becoming the high school experts across Southern California. Sound like you? Keep reading.

Position Overview

As the Special Education Program Associate at Ednovate, you will implement Ednovate’s vision for special education to help achieve the highest levels of academic and social-emotional learning for every student. You will provide instructional, compliance, and programmatic support at all schools to ensure continuity of special education services across the network. You will also support network-level administrative and transition programming initiatives while responding flexibly to school-site staffing vacancies, elevated caseloads, and specialized student needs. As a partner to school leaders, special education staff, families, and the network Special Education team, you will ensure high-quality, compliant, and student-centered services. This is a full-time, exempt role that reports to the Senior Director of Special Education.

What You'll Do

  • Support network-level administrative and transition programming initiatives. Collaborate with school teams to ensure transition goals and services are aligned with student needs, postsecondary outcomes, and legal requirements.Provide translation and interpretation support during IEP meetings and family communications when needed to ensure meaningful parent participation. Administer formal academic assessments and accompanying academic reports when required. Serve as a consistent, solution-oriented presence across the network, modeling best practices in compliance, instruction, and family engagement.
  • Ensure special education data is compliant and accurate. In collaboration with the Special Education Program Manager and network team, support the monitoring of enrollment trends and special education rosters to ensure accurate identification and reporting. Assist with administrative tasks that support the overall functioning of the network special education team, including but not limited to data review, documentation support, and compliance monitoring.
  • Provide special education services at schools as needed. Provide direct special education case management support to schools experiencing special education vacancies or caseloads exceeding the maximum of 28 students, ensuring uninterrupted services and compliance. Support schools during periods of staffing transitions (e.g., leaves, exits, mid-year vacancies) to stabilize special education systems and service delivery.

  • Paid family leave, short-term disability and life insurance benefits
