    Position Information:
    The Certified Speech Language Pathologist Assistant is a WA State DOH SLPA-certified position that works independently under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). This position performs tasks such as conducting speech-language screenings, assisting with direct therapy, documenting progress, communicating with families, providing administrative support and allowing more students access to necessary services. Assists in developing and implementing care plans, strictly following the scope of practice.

    Shift Details: 6.5 hours a day; 180 day calendar
    Non-Continuing Position: This position is non-continuing for the 2025-2026 school year only. Typically, non-continuing assignments fill a variety of temporary vacancies to help the school district meet a short-term work demand. This work assignment expires on the end date of employment and there is no reasonable assurance for work after the end date. An employee's total work hours and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.
    FLSA Status: Non-exempt
    Hourly Rate: $43.32 per hour (2025-2026 Professional - Technical Employee Salary Schedule)
    Position Type/Level: Professional - Technical Employee Level C

    Required Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    • Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
    • Hold a current Washington State Department of Health SLPA Certificate.
    • In addition, must hold an associate degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited college or university.

    Licenses/Special Requirements:

    • Current Washington State Department of Health SLPA Certificate.
    • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date).
    • Must have a reliable method of transportation to travel between various District sites to provide services. (Mileage reimbursement is available.)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • One year of SLPA work experience in a K-12 setting is preferred.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in speech-language pathology is preferred.


    Benefits:

Eligibility for SEBB state health insurance coverage is determined by working 630 hours during the school year. Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by employees who work at least 3.50 hours per day in a continuing position.
