HEAD START FISCAL SPECIALIST 2


SALARY:
$3,728 per month ($44,736 annually)

LOCATION:
Lynnwood, Washington


DESCRIPTION:

The Head Start & Early Head Start Fiscal Specialist 2 an administrative and professional position with duties and responsibilities such as supervision and training of accounting staff, planning and oversight of financial systems and policy, budgeting, oversight of the annual audit, liaison with all departments, contract management, cash flow, and computerized fund accounting including financial statements.
This is a full time position and reports to the Executive Director.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a liaison between the Head Start & Early Head Start program and the Edmonds College business office
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local fiscal regulations
  • Work closely in conjunction with the Executive Director to establish the annual fiscal budget, cost allocation plan, and program area budgets
  • Train staff on pertinent fiscal procedures and regulations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or bachelor's degree in accounting, business, fiscal management, or a related field
  • Accounting background with a minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable; knowledge of full cycle accounts payable; grant funded nonprofit experience a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Google

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. This also includes the ability to produce clearly written documents.


WORK SCHEDULE:

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.


COMPENSATION:

Salary range 43. Beginning salary is $3,728 monthly, with progressive increases to $4,865 monthly, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, 3 personal leave days, and 16 vacation days per year (incremental increases to 25 vacation days per year).

  • All new positions are contingent upon funding.

The college serves approximately 18,000 students annually, including approximately 800 international students from about 55 countries. The college currently offers six Bachelor of Applied Science degrees, one Bachelor of Science degree, 66 associate degrees, and 111 professional certificates in 30 programs of study. The college operates two on-campus residence halls housing approximately 400 students.
