JOB OBJECTIVE
Plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the district’s core technology infrastructure by ensuring a secure, reliable, and high-performing environment that supports instructional and administrative needs, while also providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and hands-on oversight of servers, networking, wireless systems, data security, and other essential services. The IT Manager leads a skilled technical team, collaborates with district and school leaders, and drives continuous improvement to ensure technology effectively supports teaching, learning, and day-to-day district operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily leadership, supervision, and support to the technical team responsible for core district infrastructure.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of district file servers, virtualization platforms, cloud integrations, and enterprise systems to ensure reliability and high performance.
- Manage and supervise the team responsible for network and communication systems, including LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless networks, IP telephony, and firewall/security appliances.
- Ensure the security and integrity of district data through effective backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity practices.
- Primarily responsible for internet content filtering.
- Primarily responsible for identity management solutions.
- Primarily responsible for student safety platforms.
- Coordinate and prioritize infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with district strategic goals and timely completion of critical initiatives.
- Manage vendor partnerships, contracts, and service agreements to ensure high-quality support and cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with district and school leaders to ensure technology services effectively support instructional and administrative programs.
- Provide mentorship and professional development to technical staff, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and customer service.
- Participate in technology committees and training programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain technology standards, procedures, and documentation to support consistent and efficient operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Length of Contract: Two hundred forty (240) contract days.
EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated by the Executive Director of Technology in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and state law.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Education: Relevant 4 yr Degree
- Previous Experience: 7-9 years of similar experience
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, and follow state and district guidelines
