Salary: $45-$55/hourT-Line Inspector/ObserverThis position will be performing work in Ontario, OregonSummary/Objective:The T-Line Inspector/Observer role is responsible for overseeing construction of contracted projects. The inspector will perform daily on-site inspections to verify the work is being completed in strict accordance with drawings and specifications of approved project documents.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Inspect all project-associated field operations as required.Create and maintain detailed inspection reports daily.Interact professionally with Contractors by providing clear, accurate, and timely communications.Review discrepancies with appropriate parties.Observe concrete and soil field tests as needed.Maintain all contract documents, necessary permits, and updated drawings.Ensure a safety-conscious work environment and initiate corrective action, as necessary.Qualifications/Experience:15 years of line work in transmission, distribution, or substation.Previous transmission construction and inspection experience is preferred.Journeyman Lineman experience preferred.In-depth knowledge of construction principles and techniques, including construction specifications, drawings and conformance requirements.Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to perform web-based tasksProficient in Project Management applications (e.g., Procore) and ArcGIS programming.Basic understanding of field mobile applications (e.g., ArcGIS, Field Maps, etc.) preferred.Competencies:CommunicationNegotiating ResolutionAdaptation and Dealing with AmbiguityResults DrivenCustomer FocusRelationship PartneringProblem Analysis and Critical ThinkingSupervisory Responsibility:NoneSalary:$45-$55/hourPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a project specific non-exempt/hourly position. The hours will fluctuate.Work Environment / Physical Demands:Work Environment: This job operates in indoor and outdoor field environments including routine use of a vehicle and walking field assessments of utility infrastructure and can include work in remote locations as well as urban/city environments. Vehicle use may include stepping in and out of a full size 4x4 pickup truck several times a day for long durations and/or frequent stops and ability to work/drive safely in potentially harsh weather conditions.Physical Demands: The employee must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to travel and work in a field environment. This includes walking/hiking three or more miles a day on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. This position can include exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions, exposure to hazardous traffic conditions, carrying, pushing and/or pulling light to moderate weights up to 50 pounds as well as operating assigned equipment and vehicles.
