Position Summary
The Event Manager serves as the primary liaison between Edlen, clients, exhibitors, venue personnel, and production teams to coordinate electrical services for conventions, trade shows, special events, and productions. This role manages event requirements from planning through execution, ensuring exceptional customer service, accurate utility planning, and consistent operational excellence.
· Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide outstanding customer service to clients, exhibitors, venue staff, and partners.
· Assist and guide clients and venue personnel to ensure proper electrical support.
· Coordinate with electricians to provide accurate information regarding all electrical orders.
· Confirm all show information in the Event Management Program (EMP) is accurate and updated regularly. (May be required to use other event management software programs.)
· Develop and maintain a complete and thorough knowledge of EMP and its relationship to event management duties.
· Maintain and update EMP Branch and Show Price Maintenance modules.
· Participate in preparing event service estimates, invoices, and billing negotiations.
· Gather, input, manage, and execute complex show management utility requirements to produce estimates, provide services, and obtain final approval.
· Possess a thorough understanding of all order forms (rate, package, labor, lighting, etc.) and determine which forms apply to specific event types.
· Maintain complete knowledge of Edlen’s electrical equipment as it relates to power distribution and billing.
· Coordinate with other Event Managers to acquire knowledge needed to support additional venues.
· Plan, manage, and execute the production of complex events, including creating, producing, and scheduling work orders for exhibitor and show management requirements.
· Assist exhibitors and show management with planning and layout of utility orders.
· Interact with exhibitors and show management onsite to discuss needs and resolve issues.
· Manage service and labor desks during events.
· Attend all pre‑event and post‑event planning meetings.
· Negotiate and finalize show management invoices.
· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with facilities, partners, clients, and customers to ensure efficient operations.
Schedule
· Monday through Friday 8 am-4 :30 pm are the business hours but schedules may vary depending on the needs of the event.
· Evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed based on event calendars.
· 8‑hour shift; schedule variations depending on venue and event requirements.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and walk show floors.
· Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds using safe techniques.
· Ability to work in locations with varying temperatures depending on the venue.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Organizational and time‑management abilities.
· Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
· 2 years of customer service or event‑related experience.
· 1 year of event planning experience is a plus.
· Valid Driver License.
· Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or related field is a plus but not required.
