About the Role


The Credit Trainee role is an early-career development program designed for candidates who are motivated, curious, and eager to build a long-term career in credit and finance.

You’ll join the credit team and receive hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to multiple areas of the business. No prior credit experience is required — the client will teach you everything you need to succeed.


The Credit Trainee Program


This is an 8–12 month rotational training program where you’ll gain real-world experience across operations and credit functions, including:

  • Time in warehouse and branch operations
  • Shadowing sales teams and delivery drivers
  • Participating in customer meetings and site visits
  • Learning how trade credit is extended and managed


Core Skills You’ll Learn

  • Credit systems and processes
  • Emotional intelligence and communication
  • Sales process fundamentals
  • Collections and risk management
  • Customer relationship management
  • Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) basics
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Secondary security concepts


By the end of the program, you’ll have a strong foundation in credit management and customer-facing financial decision-making.


Qualifications

Required

  • 0–3 years of work experience after earning a bachelor’s degree
  • (Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Interest in customer service, finance, or credit management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative

Career Path & Growth


This role is designed as a pipeline into Credit Manager positions.

After completing the program, you’ll be prepared to:

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts
  • Own credit decisions and accounts receivable performance
  • Build relationships with customers and sales partners
  • Grow business while managing financial risk


Top performers may advance into Area Credit Manager roles, with increased responsibility and people leadership opportunities.

Location & Relocation


  • Initial training will take place in Santa Ana, CA for 8–12 months
  • Relocation is required after the training period
  • Nationwide opportunities are available
  • A relocation allowance will be provided
  • Geographic preferences will be considered where possible

Compensation & Benefits


  • Hourly Pay Range: $26.17 – $39.24
  • Bonus or incentive plan eligible
