What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher (Long Term), East Mesa position at Edkey, Inc.?
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow and implement the teachers the teachers lesson plans and classroom routines with fidelity.
- Maintain a safe, respectful and positive classroom environment that aligns with school-wide expectations.
- Manage student behavior in a manner consistent with the school's behavior policies.
- Provide clear instructions and support to students while promoting engagement and learning.
- Take attendance and report any student issues or concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch and dismissal as assigned.
- Leave detailed notes for the returning teacher summarizing the day's activities and any notable student behavior or issues.
- Protect the confidentiality of students and staff in accordance with school policy and legal requirements.
- Follow all school policies, including safety procedures and code of conduct expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Prior experience working with children or in a classroom setting is strongly preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage groups of children, and maintain classroom order.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and reliability.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- May substitute in various grade levels (K-12), including general education and special education settings.
- May be called on short notice
