Edison Smart are partnered with a growing AEC firm looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Chicago IL.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead projects from concept through construction, mentor junior staff, collaborate across disciplines, and build lasting relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems for a variety of project types.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
- Develop mechanical system concepts, perform engineering calculations, and prepare construction documents.
- Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and civil engineering teams throughout all project phases.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development initiatives.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 6 years of mechanical engineering experience within an AEC consulting environment.
- Strong experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
- Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and mechanical load calculation software
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
