We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Systems (BAS) Programmer to join our team in Ashburn, VA. This role is ideal for a highly skilled controls professional with extensive experience programming, commissioning, and optimizing complex building automation systems.
The successful candidate must hold a Tridium Niagara N4 Certification and have a proven track record delivering high-performance BAS solutions for mission-critical facilities, commercial buildings, or data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, configure, and commission Building Automation Systems using the Johnson Controls Metasys platform.
- Develop and maintain N4 graphics, logic programming, alarms, trends, schedules, and reports.
- Integrate HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other building systems into the BAS platform.
- Perform point-to-point verification, startup, functional testing, and system commissioning.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication networks, and field devices.
- Optimize system performance for occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field technicians, and clients throughout project execution.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, sequence of operations, and as-built programming documentation.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior programmers and field technicians.
- Support customer training, warranty activities, and ongoing system enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Tridium Niagara N4 Certification (Required).
- 5 years of Building Automation Systems programming experience.
- Experience programming HVAC control systems including AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and central plants.
- Strong understanding of BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP-based building automation networks.
- Experience commissioning and troubleshooting BAS installations.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, control diagrams, and sequence of operations.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Northern Virginia as needed.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
