Our client—an established and highly respected Building Automation Systems Integrator—is seeking a skilled Applications Engineer to join their expanding team in Grand Prairie, Texas. 🔧 The Role
As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and documentation of HVAC/DDC control solutions across a variety of commercial and industrial environments. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, field engineers, and integration specialists to deliver dependable and efficient BAS designs.
📝 Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop HVAC and DDC control systems from concept through final documentation.
- Interpret and translate DDC control sequences into clear, functional technical designs.
- Create detailed system schematics and drawings using Microsoft Visio.
- Develop complete Building Automation System (BAS) architectures and support system integration.
- Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, and other communication protocols.
- Ensure all designs comply with ASHRAE standards, as well as relevant energy and comfort guidelines.
- Utilize Microsoft Access, Excel automation, or SharePoint for project tracking and documentation.
- Produce high-quality Visio-based schematic generation to support installation and commissioning teams.
🎯 About You
- Demonstrated experience in HVAC Controls / DDC Controls design.
- Strong ability to interpret control sequences and develop effective automation strategies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Visio, especially for system diagrams and schematics.
- Understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and modern control strategies.
- Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and third-party system integration.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and building energy performance requirements.
- Experience with project tools such as Access, Excel automation, or SharePoint is a plus.
