POSITION:
Edison Elementary Principal (1st-2nd)
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Superintendent
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Serves as the instructional leader of the building staff and articulates a clear and compelling vision founded in strong and sustainable student achievement outcomes; manages personnel effectively; fosters an environment where staff and faculty work cooperatively together and hold each other accountable to reach high levels of student achievement; develops and maintains a climate that promotes student learning; models and promotes the continuous use of data to make decisions; manages school resources; maintains a sound plan of school organization; fosters a positive school climate by assessing, planning, and communicating with the school community; promotes distributive leadership while demonstrating understanding of and respect and appreciation for cultural diversity; maintains discipline to ensure a standard of student behavior designed to engender respect and minimize school and classroom interruptions; demonstrates the ability to effectively utilize technology; observes teaching methods and examines learning materials to evaluate and standardize curricula and teaching techniques, and to determine areas where improvement is needed; assists in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, and assigning the school staff; other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
(1) Master’s degree
(2) At least three years of classroom teaching experience.
(3) Two to ten years related experience and/or training preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
(4) A valid Oklahoma elementary principal certificate.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Regular attendance following a designated work schedule; must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required; must be able to attend and participate in meetings and conferences. Perform monthly evaluations of staff, make monthly reports to Board of Education and perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent. Must receive TLE evaluator certification before 09/01/2025.
