PLC Implementation Coach (TOSA)

Location: District-wide | Status: Exempt | Schedule: 1.0 FTE

Position Summary

With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools' mission, vision, and core values, the Licensed Teacher is responsible for creating an inclusive environment where each and every student can discover their possibilities and thrive. Under the direction of the Principal, Director of Student Support Services, or administrative designee, the Licensed Teacher represents a broad grouping of diverse and different instructional positions responsible for presenting district curriculum in assigned instructional subjects, delivering and instructing students in accordance with lesson plans and instructional material, and evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives.

Foundational System Leadership & System Commitments (The "Why")

  • Anchor building-level PLC implementation in the core district purpose, driving collective action to design high-impact instruction, providing equitable and holistic support for academic and social-emotional needs, and utilizing evidence-based responses so every student is known, supported, and empowered to thrive.
  • Support school leaders to establish, sustain, and protect regular PLC time centered on collective action and the four core PLC questions.
  • Build capacity of building leaders to foster inclusive, collaborative team cultures that proactively remove learning barriers to learning and address the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.
  • Support building leaders in utilizing team readiness tools and implementation rubrics to strategically integrate the expertise of specialized educators (Special Education, English Learner, Talent Development, interventionists, etc.) into collaborative team structures.

Equity-Driven Data Literacy & MTSS Alignment

  • Collaborate directly with the District Level MTSS team to institutionalize coherent PLC practices across all sites with an explicit focus on strengthening Tier 1 instruction and reducing systemic achievement and opportunity gaps.
  • Partner with building leaders to lead data reviews and empower teams to analyze multiple sources of evidence including but not limited to, student work, assessment data, behavioral patterns, and SEL indicators.
  • Coach building leaders to move beyond identifying problems toward implementing and monitoring high-impact instructional responses that are culturally responsive, strengths-based, and aligned to student needs.
  • Support building leaders and collaborative PLC teams in using data cycles to refine instruction, adjust interventions and extensions, and ensure each and every student experiences rigorous, grade-level learning opportunities.

Culturally Responsive Instruction & Continuous Improvement (CPSS Lens)

  • Embed CPSS principles into daily coaching practices by guiding educators to utilize cultural context, validate student identity, asset frame, and honor diverse student capital within their daily planning.
  • Partner collaborative PLC teams to ensure that instructional response strategies aligned to PLC Questions 3 and 4 are culturally responsive.
  • Coach collaborative PLC teams to design high-rigor, high-expectation "instructional matches" that embed necessary scaffolds, cognitive rigor, academic vocabulary, and flexible grouping to maximize access and engagement.
  • Lead collaborative PLC teams through continuous improvement cycles utilizing Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA), job-embedded micro-teaching, peer observations, and reflective coaching loops to test and refine teaching strategies.
  • Identify and celebrate high-functioning PLC sites and teams to support replicating, scaling and sustainability of effective systems and strategies districtwide.
  • Amplify district-wide success by highlighting cross-site "strategy spotlights" and sharing proven, culturally proficient PLC practices during universal professional development.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minnesota teaching license(s) in assigned areas of responsibility

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: The 2026-2027 starting salary range for this position is $52,926 to $124,444. Salary offers will consider the candidate's experience, education, skills, and the school district's budget. Experienced candidates should expect a salary offer around the midpoint of the salary range. In exceptional cases, salaries exceeding the midpoint may be offered to attract candidates for hard-to-fill positions or those with specialized skills. Such decisions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Benefits: Edina Public Schools provides eligible employees with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as flexible spending plans. All employees participate in the state's pension program, the Teachers Retirement Association (TRA). In addition, employees can participate in the 403(b) retirement program, with eligibility for a district match based on the terms and conditions outlined in the employee work agreement. Eligible employees also receive paid time off in accordance with the provisions outlined in the employee work agreement.
