Summer Tennis Instructor (Seasonal)

Position Overview

Provide tennis instruction for members through lessons, clinics, and group programs during the summer season. This role is primarily on-court and focused on creating a fun, safe, and engaging experience. Responsibilities include basic court setup and clean-up following each session.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with tennis lessons, clinics, and junior programs
• Provide instruction to players of all skill levels in a positive and supportive environment
• Arrive prepared for scheduled lessons and activities
• Set up courts prior to lessons and clean up (pick up balls, sweep courts) after use
• Ensure courts and equipment are safe and ready for play
• Communicate any issues or concerns to the Director of Racquets or Assistant Director of Racquets.
• Enforce club rules and maintain a professional, friendly presence with members
• Assist with occasional tennis events or activities as needed
• Attend brief staff meetings or trainings if requested
  
  

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous tennis playing or coaching experience required
• Ability to work with both junior and adult players
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable with the ability to work a consistent summer schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Tennis certification (RSPA, PTR, or similar) preferred

• Outdoor tennis environment within a private country club setting
• Moderate noise levels from lessons, members, and club activity
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching during on-court instruction
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (tennis equipment, ball carts, etc.)
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, sun, humidity, and occasional rain
• Direct interaction with members and guests to provide a positive and professional experience
