Position Overview
Provide tennis instruction for members through lessons, clinics, and group programs during the summer season. This role is primarily on-court and focused on creating a fun, safe, and engaging experience. Responsibilities include basic court setup and clean-up following each session.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist with tennis lessons, clinics, and junior programs
- Provide instruction to players of all skill levels in a positive and supportive environment
- Arrive prepared for scheduled lessons and activities
- Set up courts prior to lessons and clean up (pick up balls, sweep courts) after use
- Ensure courts and equipment are safe and ready for play
- Communicate any issues or concerns to the Director of Racquets or Assistant Director of Racquets.
- Enforce club rules and maintain a professional, friendly presence with members
- Assist with occasional tennis events or activities as needed
- Attend brief staff meetings or trainings if requested
Qualifications
- Previous tennis playing or coaching experience required
- Ability to work with both junior and adult players
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable with the ability to work a consistent summer schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Tennis certification (RSPA, PTR, or similar) preferred

- Outdoor tennis environment within a private country club setting
- Moderate noise levels from lessons, members, and club activity
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching during on-court instruction
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (tennis equipment, ball carts, etc.)
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, sun, humidity, and occasional rain
- Direct interaction with members and guests to provide a positive and professional experience
