Requirement:
Required Skills
- 7 years as a Human-Centered Designer, Service Designer, UX Strategist, or similar, including 3 years in regulated or large-scale environments (e.g., government, healthcare, finance).
- Experience designing digital products using human-centered design, collaborating with engineering, product, and program teams.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, bridging policy, operations, and technology, and translating between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Expertise in qualitative research (user interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry) and synthesizing insights into actionable outcomes.
- Proficiency in service design methods (journey mapping, service blueprinting, ecosystem mapping, prototyping).
- Experience designing for accessibility, equity, and diverse populations (Section 508, WCAG, inclusive design).
- Familiarity with large-scale public systems, including compliance and policy constraints.
- Strong communication skills, able to present insights clearly to varied audiences.
- Proven ability to deliver in complex, multi-stakeholder, regulated environments.
- Collaborative experience with IT, project managers, and business/program teams.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP, TANF, or similar programs, including eligibility and renewal processes.
- Experience working with public-sector or mission-driven organizations (e.g., Medicaid agencies, ACA programs, public health, nonprofits).
- Familiarity with CMS guidance, Medicaid regulations, and procurement practices.
- Background in agile delivery, discovery cycles, or government modernization.
- Experience with enterprise design systems (components, documentation, adoption).
- Experience designing AI-assisted workflows, conversational interfaces, or self-service tools with responsible AI focus.
- Experience in plain language and content design for public communications.
- Experience mentoring teams in human-centered design (design sprints, workshops, research).
- Strong user research skills (interviews, facilitation, insight synthesis).
- Relevant UX/design certifications (e.g., NN/g, IDEO, LUMA, CUA) preferred.
