On-Call Receptionist- this is an on-call position, Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm

Position Summary

Greet all visitors and ensure they sign-in and obtain a name badge, direct visitors to trainings and/or meetings occurring at the center. Operate the switchboard and perform all related tasks.

Essential Functions
  • Knowledge of all Agency personnel and their positions.
  • Maintain supply of forms in the reception area.
  • Receive and distribute internal and external mail, packages, and faxes.
  • Maintain copy and fax machines with paper and distribute faxes in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Reception area and keep supplies stocked for staff use.
  • Forward switchboard to private answering service every evening.
  • Process incoming checks for donations and payments.
  • Sensitivity to the cultural diversity of employees and clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Applied Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated reception, clerical, and office administration experience.
  • Customer service orientation - ability to interact and respond to people at all levels, both within and outside of the Agency.
  • Possess a pleasant and professional phone manner.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office equipment operation (fax, copier, etc.).
  • Attention to detail - ability to organize information.
  • Extreme discretion - ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet).
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Self-starting.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to function under pressure, multi-task, and work independently.


The hourly rate for this position is: $22.00

Note: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued new requirements for health care and congregant care facilities to decrease the risk of COVID-19 outbreaks. Based on the CDPH public health mandate, all candidates for positions at Edgewood Center must provide proof of vaccination. Edgewood Center will consider applicants with ADA and Title VII exemptions on a case-by-case basis.
