Position Overview:
As a Host at Edgewood Tahoe Resort, you will be responsible for greeting and seating guests in a polite, friendly, and professional manner. The Host ensures that the guest experience is pleasant from the moment they arrive until they are seated. They play an important role in managing reservations, maintaining a smooth flow of guests, and supporting the front-of-house staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests upon arrival, with a warm, friendly and professional demeanor
- Manage reservations and ensure accurate communication with guests and servers.
- Keep track of wait times and ensure guests are informed. Maintain an organized system for seating flow.
- Manage the seating chart and ensure guests are seated in a timely manner based on availability and preferences.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally and direct them to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Maintain an organized and clean entrance area.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, specials, and restaurant policies to assist guests.
- Communicate guest preferences, special needs, or requests to the appropriate team members.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Upbeat, outgoing, and professional personality with strong communication skills.
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus.
- Must possess computer skills; Guest Center (Opentable) experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
