We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Landscape Laborer to join our year-round landscaping team. This position will work primarily with our landscape installation crew, assisting with the installation of trees, shrubs, sod, mulch, and other landscape materials. The employee will also assist with general landscape maintenance as needed and must be available for snow and ice removal operations during the winter.
This is a full-time, year-round position that requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist with planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plant material.
- Prepare planting areas by digging holes, removing soil, grading, and amending the soil as needed.
- Install and repair sod, including preparing and grading the soil before installation.
- Spread and install mulch, topsoil, decorative stone, and other landscape materials.
- Assist with landscape bed preparation, edging, grading, and site cleanup.
- Load and unload plants, tools, equipment, and landscaping materials.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, wheelbarrows, compactors, and other landscaping equipment.
- Assist equipment operators and crew leaders during landscape installation projects.
- Perform general landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, leaf cleanup, and property cleanup.
- Maintain clean and organized trucks, trailers, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow instructions from crew leaders and supervisors.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
- Assist with snow plowing, shoveling, snow blowing, salting, and other snow and ice removal duties during the winter.
- Report to work during snow and ice events, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Perform other landscaping and property-maintenance duties as assigned.
- Previous landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors throughout the year.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 50–75 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, stand, walk, dig, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely and productively as part of a crew.
- Dependable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to work overtime and adjusted schedules when required.
- Availability for snow and ice removal operations throughout the winter.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Experience operating landscaping or snow-removal equipment is a plus.
This is a full-time, year-round position. The regular schedule may vary depending on weather, seasonal workload, and project requirements. Overtime, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday work may be required, particularly during snow and ice events.
Work EnvironmentThe position is performed primarily outdoors in conditions that may include heat, cold, rain, snow, mud, dust, and uneven terrain. Employees will regularly work around trucks, trailers, machinery, landscaping equipment, and active construction or installation areas.
