Position Summary:
The Medication Nursing Assistant (MNA) plays an important role in supporting the nursing team and providing quality care to residents. In this role, the MNA is responsible for administering medications as directed by physicians and supervised by licensed nursing staff, while ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and facility policies.
Accurately document medication administration and report any concerns to the nursing team.
Observe residents for any reactions or side effects and promptly notify the nurse when needed.
Assist residents with daily care needs and provide support to ensure their comfort and safety.
Maintain proper handling, storage, and security of medications.
Follow all facility policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Work collaboratively with the nursing staff to maintain a positive and supportive care environment.
Qualifications:
Active NH Medication Nursing Assistant (MNA) certification as required by the state.
Active NH LNA License.
Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow medication administration procedures carefully.
