Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Quality Control (Electrical/I&C) Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC

Senior Quality Control Engineer-

Duties

  • Provide quality control support to the project team and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results.
  • Perform construction quality control inspection and surveillance activities in support of project and/or maintenance activities.
  • Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed.
  • Obtain safety training, obey safety rules and make safety an integral part of each task.
  • Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.
  • Review design output documents in accordance with approved procedures in order to establish inspection requirements in quality assurance procedures, construction plans, and/or work packages.
  • Coordinate with internal and external sources to resolve quality issues and provide status of the inspection/test activities for the work activity.
  • Review technical criteria, personnel qualifications and work sequence on work packages including the notation of hold points prior to performance of inspections.
  • Perform or direct the quality inspection activities of subordinate QC engineers and other inspection personnel as assigned.
  • Assist in resolution of code, specifications and drawing interpretations.
  • Perform or supervise the performance of inspection, witness, test, surveillance, and documents the results of the inspection activities.
  • Assess the completeness of construction activities and quality verification documentation prior to preparation of quality control releases for turnover.
  • Review subcontractor's quality program for compliance to established procedures, attends mobilization meetings and monitor their activities for proper implementation.
  • Review suppliers and/or subcontractor's quality verification documentation for traceability and specification compliance.
  • Review, assess and status subcontractors' costs, manpower and materials.
  • Approve subcontracts invoices and application for payment.

Education/Yrs. Of Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 - 7 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An associate's degree and 7 - 9 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 10 - 14 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Certification with continuing technical training is required for performance of inspections and surveillance activities.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Prior work experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program.
  • Prior DOE work experience.
  • Well-developed organizational skills with good communication skills.
  • Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical field experience in electrical and instrumentation and controls (I&C) quality control within the last sixteen (16) months.
  • Prior experience on an Engineering procurement construction (EPC) contract.
  • Possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.

Other Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.
