The Assistant Project Manager will support execution of a large, multi-year construction project involving civil, underground utility, mechanical, electrical, and site infrastructure work. This role is intended for experienced construction professionals to be ready to expand their project-management responsibilities and progress toward leading larger EPC and complex construction projects.

Assistant Project Manager (APM)-Construction-
The Assistant Project Manager will support execution of a large, multi-year construction project involving civil, underground utility, mechanical, electrical, and site infrastructure work. This role is intended for experienced construction professionals to be ready to expand their project-management responsibilities and progress toward leading larger EPC and complex construction projects.
Duties
- Support the Project Manager in planning and execution of assigned construction scopes from mobilization through completion and turnover.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, field supervision, quality, safety, and project controls.
- Monitor project schedule, cost, progress, manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
- Participate in construction planning, sequencing, look-ahead planning, progress meetings, and resolution of field issues.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change documentation, and other project requirements.
- Assist with change management, cost forecasting, schedule updates, progress reporting, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with superintendents and field teams to remove constraints and maintain construction progress.
- Support procurement and subcontract administration, including material/equipment status and vendor performance.
- Identify schedule, cost, quality, and execution risks and assist in developing corrective actions.
- Support project closeout, turnover, punch-list completion, and final documentation.
- Approximately five (5) years of construction, engineering, field/project management, or related project experience (more experienced candidates are encouraged when their background represents progression toward larger project-management responsibility).
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, power, nuclear, or EPC construction projects.
- Backgrounds in areas such as Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Construction Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, Construction Coordinator, or Project Controls/Construction professional with strong field/project execution experience.
- Working knowledge of construction schedules, cost control, RFIs, submittals, change management, procurement, subcontractors, and construction documentation.
- Strong field orientation and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Previous DOE/SRS experience is beneficial.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or similar construction scheduling tools.
- Experience on increasingly complex projects; recent involvement with projects in the $50M-$100M range is desirable.
- Commercial and private-sector construction experience is highly valued.
