What are the responsibilities and job description for the Valet - PT position at Edgewater Missoula?
A Valet acts as a host or hostess to all arriving and departing guests. Acknowledges and greets each guest with enthusiasm and prescribed terminology immediately upon the guest’s arrival and delivers “Service with a smile.” This position also includes bellman services such as assisting with guest luggage, and escorting guests to their room. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Responsibilities
Create excitement through guest interaction and conversation.
- Deliver five-star service by accurately escorting arriving guests to rooms, handling baggage transfers, and accommodating guests’ special requests.
- Assist guests with luggage during arrival and departure, ensuring prompt and careful handling.
- Assist with loading and unloading guest vehicles.
- Escort guests to their room and provide room overview and property amenities.
- Perform the same functions for departing guests.
- Act as valet attendant as business needs to dictate.
- Must be a team player with entire hotel staff.
- Must be courteous, friendly, and able to represent the hotel professionally to hotel guests.
- Must be knowledgeable on the various types of rooms and amenities that are available at the hotel, as well as the activities and services available.
- Must be very familiar with the local attractions in the surrounding areas in order to comfortably make recommendations and give directions.
- Must be service-oriented and actively looking for ways to help people.
- Active listener: gives full attention to what others are saying and takes time to understand the points being made while asking appropriate questions and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Ability to write effectively as appropriate for the needs of teammates and guests.
- This is a rewarding and physically demanding job. Candidates must be able to perform the required duties of a valet attendant (jogging, long periods of being on feet, extended periods of being outdoors in all types of weather, etc.)
What are we looking for?
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and over the phone, with Staff, Guest, and Ownership.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to promote services of the hotel.
- Good driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years; no DUI, DWI, reckless driving, or suspended/revoked license Good problem-solving skills/
- Must be 21 years of age for vehicle insurance purposes
- Strong customer service skills
- The ability to multitask
