What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Staff // Food Runner position at Edgewater Beach and Cabana Club?
Edgewater Beach and Cabana Club of Sea Bright NJ is looking to hire energetic, personable, and enthusiastic people to join our team as Cafe Staff and Food Runners for the 2026 Season.
Both positions require working in a fast paced environment alongside a team and providing friendly and exceptional service and support to our members. Cafe Staff stays primarily in the kitchen helping the members with their food and beverage needs from taking the order to packing it up when complete with all of the correct accompaniments. Runners tend to stay moving most of the day, helping our cocktail waitresses and Tiki bar staff get their food correctly and in a timely manner.
Duties:
- Taking food orders from the kitchen to the designated tables or guests on the beach
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of each order
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure prompt and efficient service
- Assist with food accompaniment preparation, bagging and keeping orders together
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any concerns or special requests
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of culinary terminology and food preparation techniques is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to provide outstanding guest services with a friendly demeanor
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
