Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, empathetic, and proactive Personal Injury Paralegal to join our growing legal team. In this role, you will manage personal injury cases from initial client intake through the pre-litigation phase, with opportunities to support active litigation. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters, ensuring cases move forward efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of personal injury cases, including case intake, investigation, and settlement negotiations
- Case Management: Handle a robust caseload from initial intake through settlement or trial preparation.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular, compassionate contact with clients to provide case updates and gather information.
- Medical Records: Request, track, organize, and summarize medical records and billing statements.
- Document Drafting: Prepare letters representation, open insurance claims, and draft settlement demand packages.
- Liaison: Coordinate daily with insurance adjusters, defense counsel, and medical providers regarding liens and bills.
- Calendar Management: Track critical deadlines, including the statute of limitations, court appearances, and depositions.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a personal injury paralegal (plaintiff side preferred).
- Education: Paralegal certificate or Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies is highly preferred.
- Medical Literacy: Strong understanding of medical terminology, treatment plans, and health insurance subrogation.
- Software Skills: Proficiency with case management software (e.g., Filevine, Clio, Mycase) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Exceptional organizational skills, strong written communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual: Fluency in Spanish is a major plus but not required.
