Position Overview:
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing Edgesource Corporation's daily operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and alignment with strategic goals in delivering mission-ready national security solutions. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, optimizing processes through the AdvantEDGE™ Framework, and driving operational excellence across departments to support intelligence, diplomatic, military, and homeland security missions. The Director plays a pivotal role in advancing complex missions from ideation to deployment, ensuring measurable impact, compliance, and resilience in contested environments. This position requires a strategic leader with deep knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance, and industry-recognized quality management standards such as CMMI and ISO. The role is essential for fostering continuous improvement, operational maturity, and mission success in government contracting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership:
Oversee daily operations across the organization, ensuring alignment with national security objectives, compliance with standards, and integration via the AdvantEDGE™ Framework.
- Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute operational strategies that support business growth, innovation in areas like AI/ML and UAS/C-UAS, and long-term mission readiness.
- Process Optimization:
Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and resilience in secure, cross-domain environments.
- Financial Oversight:
Manage budgets, monitor operational costs, and ensure fiscal discipline across business units, with a focus on quality-driven resource allocation.
- Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop operations staff, including cleared personnel, to build a collaborative culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Management:
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational success, track mission impact, and identify areas for enhancement.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
Ensure all operations adhere to legal, safety, quality, and security standards, including CMMI, ISO, FAR, and DCAA. Implement risk mitigation strategies for national security challenges.
- Vendor & Partner Relations:
Manage relationships with key vendors, partners, and service providers to support efficient resource management and mission-critical integrations.
- Technology & Systems:
Oversee the implementation and optimization of operational systems, software, and tools—such as those for data engineering, cloud pipelines, and AI traceability—to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of progressive operations management experience, preferably in government contracting and national security sectors.
- Proven success in leading cross-functional teams, managing large-scale projects in secure environments, and delivering measurable mission outcomes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in operational management software, performance metrics tools, and frameworks like AdvantEDGE™.
