Our Nurse Practitioner reports to our Chief Executive Officer and supports our Edgerton Hospital - Milton Clinic by performing the following duties:
Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients and reviews patient records
Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
Performs a complete physical exam and records findings and establishes presumptive diagnoses.
Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plan utilizing principle of prevention
Administers injections, immunizations, and oral medicals if necessary
Sutures wounds
Prepares electronic prescription orders for medications including controlled substances.
Interviews and advises patients and family members regarding health and illness prevention, recommending community resources to meet patient and family needs.
Assists physicians by recording patient progress note, issues diagnostic orders, and transcribes orders.
Demonstrates knowledge for age specific factors necessary to perform safe and effective duties.
Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS).
Knowledge of growth and development
Ability to interpret age specific data.
Possesses skills/knowledge to perform treatments.
Age-appropriate Communication Skills.
Possess knowledge of age specific community resources.
Involves family and/or significant other in plan of care.
Assesses patient needs, consults outside physicians, document pertinent information, review lad and letters from outside sources.
Supports the Compliance Program and follow the associated policies and procedures as they apply in their work environment.
Supports the Safety Program, implements and follows the associated policies and procedures as they apply in the work environment.
Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
Must have ability to work well with others in a team.

Practices evidence-based medicine Requirements
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE/EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Hold valid WI RN license
Maintains ANCC certification
Hold valid APNP license in state of practice.
BLS certification
Valid DEA number
Board certified
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Graduate of an accredited Master of Nursing program.
