Job Summary:
- We are a construction supply and delivery company seeking a Stocker to deliver building materials to job sites. As a Stocker, you will ensure the safety of each delivery from the moment you leave the facility until you have completed each job.
- Perform lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight.
- Secure freight; tarp and un-tarp freight as required.
- Working with customers in determining where to set the materials, and physically unloading the materials
- Represent the Company in a professional manner in all interactions with customers and company personnel.
- Consistently works in a safe, non-violent and courteous manner
- Transport and deliver freight over the road in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
- On occasion and if qualified, operates company vehicles in a safe manner, being aware of not causing damage to driveways, buildings, or other areas of job sites.
- Following route directions and unloading material where assigned.
- Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to Company personnel.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalency;
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to squat, crouch and reach as needed to handle freight; able to enter and exit the vehicle's cab numerous times each day
- Able to lift and carry freight ranging from 50 to 100lbs on a daily basis
- Able to handle, install and remove freight and/or special equipment ranging from 50-100lbs including chains, straps, tiedowns, etc.
- Able to pass a drug test (randomly, and possibly upon hire) Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- - both heat and cold
- Boom truck experience is not required, but a plus.
- May include occasional travel to multiple Edgemont Stone & Supply Co. location(s) (e.g. Folcroft, PA; Dover, DE) for training, delivery, or other purposes
- Home daily
- Typical start time is 6am
