Job Overview
This position is responsible for the direct custody, care and containment of pretrial detainees, sentenced inmates, and prisoners that are lawfully housed at the detention center. The applicant must also remain alert to the safety of co-workers and visitors to the detention center.
Duties
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities as required.
- Respond to conflicts or emergencies with appropriate intervention techniques, utilizing CPR and first aid skills when necessary.
- Collaborate with law enforcement personnel when needed, ensuring effective communication and coordination during incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities and assist in training new staff on safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Support the implementation of security measures to protect personnel and property within the facility.
Requirements
- Previous experience in law enforcement or a related field is preferred., but not mandatory
- Strong report writing skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability in conflict management and resolution techniques.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and security protocols is an advantage.
- Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A certificate or training related to security or law enforcement is beneficial but not mandatory.
