Summary:

An ESCO Project Engineer - Mechanical shall be the subject matter expert in mechanical systems for all ESCO machine platforms. As a Project Engineer - Mechanical, the associate shall act as project manager for all mechanical projects that impact ESCO . These projects could be local or globally based. Besides project management, the Project Engineer - Mechanical shall also complete operational tasks related to mechanical issues. These tasks could be standard work, production support, sustainment or project related. The Project Engineer - Mechanical shall mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical, project management and professional guidance when required.


Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Autonomously manage design projects to meet all time and cost budgets
  • Provide project summaries to ESCO leadership and manage projects through standard Stage Gate process
  • Ensure all project related information remains organized and useful throughout the project lifecycle


Individual Congributor- Mechanical

  • Establish in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems used in various ESCO machine platforms.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical, project management and professional guidance when required.
  • Autonomously complete mechanical activities in order to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Autonomously develop new ESCO mechanical assemblies and systems for various machine platforms produced by ESCO .
  • Autonomously define substitute parts to use in ESCO Electromechanical systems.
  • Autonomously develop sustainment / improvements to existing ESCO mechanical assemblies on various machine platforms produced by ESCO .
  • Create / Modify 3D and 2D data using AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Use established engineering processes to properly maintain Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) of current designs
  • Manage product lifecycles in Enovia PLM system.
  • Support ESCO production by answering mechanical questions on in-process ESCO machines.
  • Create work instructions and Standard Operating procedures for use in various ESCO technical disciplines.
  • Create and maintain mechanical design tools like part libraries and configurators.
  • Assist Order Engineering with standard work to input new orders or modify existing orders.
  • Assist Quality Engineering with standard work and RCCA investigations.
  • Assist Automation Engineering with standard work and engineering projects.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering with standard work and engineering projects.
  • Support various ESCO disciplines by answering engineering questions and requests through the ESCO Engineering Ticket System.


Requirements / Skills:

  • Expert in understanding and implementing engineering methodology in a professional environment.
  • Expert in the application of a standard NPD process in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expert in prioritization of daily tasks based on production support, standard work importance and general project timing.
  • Experience in authoring and sustainment of technical documents used for fabrication, production, inspection and service of complex products.
  • Expert in implementing Mechanical Engineering principles in project tasks and daily work.
  • Proficient in implementing Manufacturing Engineering principles in project tasks and daily work.
  • Experience with implementing Quality Engineering principles in project tasks and daily work.
  • Expert in Mechanical Engineering processes related to industrial equipment in a production / operations environment.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering processes related to industrial equipment in a production / operations environment.
  • Experience with Quality Engineering processes related to industrial equipment in a production / operations environment.
  • Expert in 3D and 2D creation and revision.
  • Experience with development and sustainment of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
  • Expert in ASME and ANSI drafting standards.
  • Expert in AutoCAD PLM or comparable PLM system.
  • Expert in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Expert in metrology tools and procedures.
  • General knowledge LEAN manufacturing principles and implementation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in creation, revision and use of mechanical & electromechanical technical instructions.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering tools (process flow , cell layouts, control plans, etc).
  • Experience in KAIZAN methodology and implementation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expert in utilizing standard programs in the MS Office suite.
  • Experience in understanding and operating VISUAL or comparable ERP system.
  • Excellent communicator in both technical terminology and layman's terms.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and understand the impact that decisions have downstream
  • Ability to evaluate and statistically develop trends and solutions.
  • Understand the importance of quality and quality control in all aspects of daily tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


Education / Experience:

  • 10 years of engineering experience
  • Education: Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
