What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business System Analyst/Tester position at EDGE Services, Inc.?
This NOT a Senior level role.
This is a contract position.
It is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in the office in Vienna, VA.
What will you do in this role?
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and UAT scenarios.
- Track and manage defects, coordinating resolution with technical teams.
- Perform system and regression testing to ensure functional accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
- Support release coordination, change management, and project documentation.
- Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
What skills should you have for this position?
- Strong background in managing and contributing to large-scale initiatives with significant business risk and visibility.
- Deep expertise in system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), including:
- Test planning and strategy development
- Writing and executing detailed test cases
- Defect tracking and resolution
- Coordinating with stakeholders to validate business requirements
- Skills in eliciting, analyzing, and translating business requirements into functional specifications and actionable solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database tools, and presentation software.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including test case management, work item tracking, and release coordination.
- Familiarity with change management principles and their application in systems implementation and process improvement.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
