Assistant Plant Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager the Asst. Plant Manager is responsible for general plant operation and maintenance to achieve the assigned production objectives by motivating the staff members in performing a variety of tasks. Assistant Plant Manager will oversee shipping, receiving, scheduling, purchasing, and assist with the maintenance and processing of the injection molding machines, automation elements such as robots, label machines, conveyors systems, maintaining the facilities and quality control. The idea candidate will have a solid work ethic, drive for efficiency, be self-motivated and strong leadership skills. Overall activities include:
- Coordinate and direct the staff members regarding the activities that need to be performed in the absence of the Plant Manager
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning and directing work; assisting with performance appraisals; recommending rewards, assisting in disciplinary action, addressing complaints and resolving problems when possible.
- On a daily basis, the position will oversee the shipping and warehouse operations, purchase materials and equipment, and oversee the production schedule.
- From time to time, the position will assist the plant manager directing staff members in the operation department ensuring that production levels are reached daily, equipment is well maintained and parts are in inventory for quick repairs, and automated equipment such as robots, label machines, conveyor belts and end of arm tools are closely monitored to reduce any downtime.
- Work closely with Chief Operating Officer, Plant Manager, and Marketing to ensure the customer’s products are produced and delivered on time.
- Perform capacity planning and efficiency maximization studies to make optimum use of equipment and available manpower to ensure better productivity
- Problem-solve and make decisions on ways to decrease cycle times and improve efficiency of setups
- Streamline production processes by analyzing product flow, testing procedures, cycle times and waste reduction
- Oversee Quality Control personnel ensuring that products are produced at the highest quality level
- Demonstrate leadership in the implementation and support of a safety focused culture
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wearing of all required safety gear (PPE)
- Adhere, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures
- Analyses plant budget to identify areas in which efficiencies can be obtained and production costs reduced and then allocates operating budget.
- Follows and maintains all FDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT requirements and regulations.
- Recommend appropriate changes in procedures to promote greater efficiency, cost savings and other benefits.

Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, Electrical from a four-year college or university or similar work experience preferred or 8 years experience with strong performance history
· 5 years of management experience plant operations roles specifically in shipping, purchasing, production, maintenance, and with robotic equipment
Salary ($75,000 to $85,000) plus performance bonus
Salaries can range depending on years of experience. This position also includes being eligible for the management bonus program.
Work Schedule:
Typically, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, the position is on call and may require work outside of the typical day as we are a 24/7 operations.
