Edge Manufacturing, Inc. is a growing cutting tool manufacturer headquartered in Pevely, Missouri with locations worldwide. Edge has produced quality band saw blades for the food processing and lumber industry for over 30 years

POSITION SUMMARY:

Edge Manufacturing is seeking a 2nd shift Material Handler for shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Obtains daily shipment orders from supervisor.
• Process shipment orders by verifying orders, preparing orders for shipment, and arranging for pick-up of orders.
• Receive inbound shipments by verifying slips, unloading trucks via forklift truck and placing items into designated location in the plant.
• Sends out shipments via UPS. Packages and weighs items, enters relevant shipping information into computer and applies shipping label to box.
• Inventories supplies used in processing blades once per month.
• Empties scrap metal barrels daily.
• Operate forklift truck to download product/supplies for Wrapper and Normac Operators.
• Changes out propane tanks on forklift trucks as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
• Attend work regularly and reliably.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform simple arithmetic and have knowledge of basic cutting principles, adequate close/peripheral/distance vision, and coordination/dexterity skills to handle objects of various sizes.
• Ability to plan, multi-task, organize, sequence, and follow directions.
• Ability to generate and interpret clear & concise verbal and written correspondence with co-workers and management to accomplish company objectives.
• Ability to effectively communicate with shift leaders and managers.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must have the flexibility to work overtime as required.
• Must hold a current Valid Driver's license (Class E preferred).

Job Type: Full-time, in person

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Pevely, MO 63070: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift – Monday through Friday, 2:45 pm to 11:15 pm
• Overtime as needed on Saturday.

Physical Demands:

· Lifts items weighing less than 25-pounds frequently throughout the workday.

· Lifts items weighing greater than 25-pounds occasionally throughout the workday.

· Push and pull items requiring forces to overcome inertia of 20-24 pounds occasionally throughout the workday.

· Operate forklift throughout the day requiring 2-4 pounds to depress foot pedal and 2-3 pounds to operate hand levers.

· Tools Used: Tools used throughout the day may include, but not limited to: tape gun, utility knife, stamp, measuring tape, forklift truck, computer, scale, etc.

· Frequently: Stands, Walks, handles material

· Occasionally: Sits, Stoops, Crouches, Climbs, balances, lifts, lifts one-handed, pushes, pulls, reaches below knee, fingering, gripping, pinching.

· Constant: Reaches knee to shoulder, talking and hearing, vision
