Responsibilities
- Lead engaging gymnastics classes for preschool-aged children and recreational groups, ensuring activities are fun, safe, and developmentally appropriate
- Design and implement lesson plans that incorporate basic gymnastics skills, movement exploration, and age-specific exercises
- Promote skill development in areas such as balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength through creative coaching methods
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, good behavior, and confidence-building among young participants
- Monitor safety protocols rigorously during all activities; ensure equipment is properly maintained and used correctly
- Incorporate related sports activities such as cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (like Judo or Karate), swimming, or basketball to diversify programming
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child’s progress, behavior management strategies, and upcoming events
Requirements
- Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education to children; experience with gymnastics is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct during activities
- Certifications or experience in Lifeguarding are a plus; familiarity with swimming or water safety is advantageous
- Background in martial arts such as Karate or Judo, or other sports like cheerleading or climbing is desirable
- Strong organizational skills to plan age-appropriate lessons and manage class schedules effectively
- Passion for promoting health, fitness, and active lifestyles among children; ability to motivate and inspire young learners
