Edgar Minerals Inc. currently has an opportunity available for an Industrial Electrician.
Our operation is located in Putnam County Florida and was started in 1892 by the Edgar family. We are arguably the oldest continuously operating mining concern in Florida. Originally operating as the Edgar Plastic Kaolin Company and more recently as the Feldspar Corporation’s Edgar Facility.
The original focus of the operation when it was founded 120 years ago, was the white kaolin clay, while the sand contained in the reserves was treated as a by-product of the clay process. Today, Edgar Minerals, continues to produce the unique, high quality clay along with premium and custom blended sand products for industrial and construction use.
With over 2500 acres of mineable land, Edgar Minerals is capable of supplying local and global markets with sand and clay for many years to come.
Job Description:
Skilled worker in the electrical field whose duties include maintenance and installation of electrical components and equipment.
Job Duties:
· Perform routine and non-routine electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
· Perform preventive maintenance, installation, and repairs of industrial/mining equipment
· Install, adjust and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges and instruments
· Troubleshoot, evaluate and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications
· Wear proper PPE/safety equipment in all designated areas as stated by MSHA
· Adhere to all MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations at all times
· Perform other duties as assigned by management

· Excellent analytical/problem solving skills
· Able to develop, read and use mechanical, electrical and structural sketches, blue prints and drawings
· Able to read and understand technical information contained in manuals, reports and related instructions
· Demonstrate oral and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
· Must be able to work any shift
· Desire to work hard. Honest and dependable. Ethics and moral value are important.
Minimum Qualifications:
· A minimum of 3 years of experience or a combination of education and experience in industrial electrical
· A minimum of 1 year experience in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred
· Valid Florida Drivers License and clean driving record
· Must be able to pass a drug test and pre-employment physical
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but not limited to extreme weather conditions; walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree; and able to lift 50lbs occasionally.
