Job Summary:
Responsible for processing mortgage applications and supporting documents to facilitate the successful completion of mortgage loans in an accurate and timely fashion by reviewing and updating all applications and supporting documents with correct information and responding to member questions and complaints. Serve as back-up for office personnel in their absence.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming phone calls from members regarding types of mortgages available: including equity loans, equity lines of credit and residential loans.
- As applicable, contact member(s) upon receipt of referrals from departments within Credit Union.
- Update Outlook Calendar of Loan Officers for interviews and closings.
- Keep applicable logs of loan applications up to date on the spreadsheet throughout the loan process.
- Provide members with checklist of items required to submit a loan application.
- Assist members with access to Loan Consultant via our website.
- Make appointments for members who wish to complete their application in person.
- Order appraisal reports and flood certifications on assigned new loan applications.
- Perform written verifications of employment (if required) as well as verbal verifications within 10 days of note date.
- Review appraisal report upon receipt and update system with applicable data. If errors are reflected on the report, request corrections via third party provider.
- Communicate with Loan Officer if appraisal does not meet anticipated or required value.
- Order title from the closing agent via the processing system as well as forwarding required documentation to them via fax or e-mail on residential loans and via third party website for equity loans.
- Responsible for scanning relevant documentation to the electronic file cabinet for all residential loans.
- Responsible for preparing requests for payoffs of equity lines of credit and/or equity loans as well as satisfactions of mortgage.
- Responsible for upload of loan documentation on closed loans via Meta Source for new loan set up in Cenlar.
- Obtain NMLS identifier number and responsible for updating personal information within 30 days of change.
- Manage and update new file logs.
- Backup for office personnel in their absence.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of processing and underwriting guidelines for residential and/or equity loans.
- Availability to work flexible hours including Saturday.
- Communication skills and ability to manage time effectively to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
- Bilingual preferred.
