Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition; document findings accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Support patients with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, memory care, and end-of-life hospice care
- Administer medications following medical documentation protocols and home healthcare regulations
- Perform catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures as trained and authorized
- Help with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe living environment
- Use assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids to safely transfer or reposition patients
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare agencies preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation practices
- Hands-on experience with vital signs monitoring, CPR certification, basic life support (BLS), and first aid training required
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping
- Experience providing geriatric care or working with elderly populations in a home or community setting is highly valued
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks associated with caregiving roles
