The Respiratory Therapy Manager is responsible for overseeing respiratory therapy services, supporting clinical staff, ensuring quality care, and promoting best practices in respiratory care. This role will work closely with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and facility administration to ensure residents receive high-quality, individualized respiratory care.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the respiratory therapy department.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and support to respiratory therapy staff and healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with nursing, social services, physicians, and other clinical professionals to develop and implement individualized resident care plans.
- Monitor respiratory care services for quality, compliance, and opportunities for performance improvement.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and disease management techniques.
- Conduct resident assessments, obtain clinical histories, and assist in developing appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Administer and oversee respiratory treatments, including inhaled medications, oxygen therapy, ventilation support, and airway clearance therapies.
- Ensure respiratory equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, calibrated, and available for resident care.
- Support staff education related to respiratory care, infection control, emergency response, and evidence-based clinical practices.
- Participate in care conferences, clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, CDC precautions, and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Assist with emergency response situations, including respiratory distress events, code situations, and airway management as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory assessments, treatments, interventions, and resident progress.
- Prior respiratory care experience required.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Current Respiratory Therapist license/certification as required by the state.
- Knowledge of Basic Life Support emergency care.
- Knowledge of CDC Standard Precautions and infection control practices.
- Strong understanding of respiratory care procedures, protocols, equipment, and patient safety standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred.

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
