Position Overview
Eden Design Group is seeking an experienced Pool Service & Repair Technician to join our team.
The primary responsibility of this position is the weekly maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial swimming pools throughout the Washington, DC and Montgomery County, Maryland area.
We are looking for someone who understands more than basic pool cleaning. The ideal candidate should be comfortable maintaining proper water chemistry, diagnosing pool problems, performing basic plumbing and equipment repairs, and programming and troubleshooting pool automation systems.
In addition to servicing existing pools, Eden Design Group builds new swimming pools and performs pool renovation and rehabilitation projects. This technician will assist with the commissioning and startup of new and renovated pools, including equipment programming, system setup, and plaster startups.
Unlike many seasonal pool-service positions, this is a full-time position throughout the entire year. During the winter months, the employee will transition into Eden Design Group’s commercial snow and ice operations.
Experience with irrigation systems is helpful but not required.

- Maintain accurate service records, including chemical readings, chemicals added, repairs needed, and relevant photographs.
Pool Equipment, Plumbing & Repairs
The technician should have working knowledge of common swimming-pool mechanical systems and be capable of performing routine repairs and replacements, including:
- Pool pumps and variable-speed pumps
- Salt-chlorination systems and salt cells
- Filters
- Valves and actuators
- Basic PVC pool plumbing
- Timers and controls
- Heaters and related pool equipment
- Circulation and filtration systems
- Identifying leaks and other common equipment problems
The technician should be capable of diagnosing common pool problems and determining whether equipment should be adjusted, repaired, or replaced.

- Programming variable-speed pumps
- Adjusting heater and temperature settings
- Programming lighting and other auxiliary functions

Advanced manufacturer-specific knowledge is preferred but not required if the candidate has a strong overall understanding of pool equipment and controls.
New Pool Construction & Renovation Support
Eden Design Group constructs new swimming pools and performs pool renovations and rehabilitation projects.
While specialized pool plumbing is generally completed by a subcontractor, the Pool Service & Repair Technician will assist with the final setup, commissioning, and startup of new and renovated pool systems.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with startup and commissioning of newly constructed or renovated pools
- Programming pool automation systems after construction
- Programming variable-speed pumps, filtration schedules, heaters, lighting, and other equipment

- Monitoring pH, alkalinity, calcium, and other water-chemistry parameters during startup
- Coordinating with Eden Design Group’s construction team as pools transition from construction into normal operation

Because snow operations are weather dependent, employees must be available for occasional overnight, early-morning, weekend, and holiday work during snow events.

During the growing season, the employee may occasionally assist with minor irrigation work such as:
