Location: Onsite – Leander, TX, United States

Compensation: Around $150,000 depending on experience and expertise

Position Overview

We are seeking an Energetics Lead to design, develop, and test energetic systems and architectures for advanced engineering platforms. This role involves end-to-end ownership of energetic subsystems including design, testing, safety compliance, and manufacturing processes.

The engineer will translate mission requirements into explosive system designs and lead the development of reliable energetic capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Energetic System Design

• Design energetic architectures and energetic subsystems
• Select explosive materials based on performance and safety requirements
• Develop explosive train architectures including detonators and boosters

Testing & Characterization

• Design and execute explosive testing programs
• Conduct blast and fragmentation analysis
• Instrument and measure energetic performance

Manufacturing & Process Development

• Develop safe manufacturing processes for energetic components
• Establish handling, storage, and assembly procedures
• Train technicians and teams in safe energetic manufacturing practices

Safety & Compliance

• Maintain compliance with explosive safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Document procedures, testing protocols, and safety processes

System Integration

• Collaborate with propulsion, mechanical, electrical, and systems teams
• Ensure energetic subsystems integrate cleanly with the full system architecture

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of experience working with explosive systems or energetics
• Experience with energetic design, explosive materials, or ordnance engineering
• Strong understanding of explosive safety and regulatory compliance
• Experience planning and executing explosive testing programs

Preferred Backgrounds

• Energetics or ordnance development programs
