As the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will offer support in mitigating risk and negotiating appropriate commercial terms. If you are an experienced procurement manager with proficient supply management, vendor management and overall vendor and contract redlining and negotiating experience - including project management and spend analytics - this could be the opportunity for you!

For this Senior Manager role, we are seeking a candidate with proven procurement experience who can work collaboratively across the organization. Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and implement efficiencies across the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Lead procurement strategy and execution for key business categories including Facilities, Marketing, and Wealth Planning, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Drive supplier innovation, cost optimization, and transformation initiatives to deliver measurable business value.
- Expertly negotiate and redline Professional Services Agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), and technology/AI-related contracts, ensuring alignment with category-specific needs.
- Advise business stakeholders on procurement strategy, contract structure, and volume-based agreements; deliver utilization reports and define negotiation criteria to support compliance and budget management.
- Negotiate and implement supplier agreements with transparent, metric-driven fee structures that support business flexibility, including scalability during market downturns.
- Collaborate closely with internal Legal to review, approve, and finalize contract redlines and edits.
- Ensure timely and accurate creation, management, and closure of Purchase Orders (POs) for executed contracts; maintain contract records within SharePoint and ZYCUS (Procurement CRM platform).
- Contribute to the annual review and enhancement of corporate Procurement Policies and Procedures, including Vendor Risk Management frameworks.
- Effectively prioritize and communicate and follow up with stakeholders to ensure accountability and leadership oversight for critical contracts supporting firm-wide operations.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations on high-impact contracts and procurement initiatives using PowerPoint.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate expertise in negotiating supplier contracts that optimize terms while mitigating financial and operational risk.
- Technically proficient in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong track record of cross-functional collaboration.
- 7–10 years of progressive procurement experience, preferably within the Financial Services industry; Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in presenting strategic recommendations, contract insights, and business initiatives to senior leadership, including the Head of Procurement.
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $100,000 - $145,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
