Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Plant Manager to oversee all manufacturing operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will lead production management efforts, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This leadership role requires a strong background in manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and operational excellence to optimize plant performance and support company growth.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures focusing on food safety, quality and worker safety.
Maintain a clean and safe plant.
Responsible for plant production goals.
Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
Responsible for managing all shift production schedules.
Select and train plant supervisory and administrative staff.
Conduct employee performance reviews.
Schedule and conduct plant meetings.
Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; hair nets, beard nets, hearing protectors, rubber work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes, cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.
Evening and weekend work may be required.
Personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree preferably
Minimum 8 - 10 year experience managing in related food processing facilities
Excellent analytical and PC skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Can multi-task and work pro-actively in a fast-paced energetic environment
Performance management
Resolving Conflict
HACCP experience required with experience in ready to eat facilities preferred.
Working knowledge of regulations and guidelines imposed upon meat – poultry operations by federal and state agencies and authorities required.
