About the Role
Edco is seeking a hands-on Product Manager with direct manufacturing experience, specifically within toys, novelty hard goods, collectibles, souvenirs, or similar consumer products. This role is not a purely strategic or marketing-focused product management position. It requires deep involvement in the physical development of products — including specifications, sampling, tooling, costing, packaging, and direct communication with international factories. The ideal candidate understands how products are engineered, manufactured, and delivered at scale. This role is 100% onsite in Gilbert, AZ. Candidates must currently reside in the local Gilbert/Phoenix area. No remote or relocation candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Full Lifecycle Manufacturing Ownership
- Own product development from concept approval through production and delivery
- Translate client requirements into detailed product specifications for manufacturing
- Work directly with internal design to refine concepts for factory execution
- Ensure manufacturability, cost alignment, and quality standards throughout development
Toy & Hard Goods Development
- Manage development of molded, tooled, metal, plastic, or novelty hard goods products
- Oversee tooling reviews, material selection, construction details, and safety/testing requirements
- Coordinate compliance requirements where applicable
International Factory Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact for overseas factories (primarily Asia-based)
- Initiate and manage costing requests with detailed specifications
- Create and manage costing sheets and factory documentation
- Negotiate cost adjustments in partnership with Client Account Managers
- Manage pre-production (PP) and top-of-production (TOP) sample approvals
- Troubleshoot production issues directly with factories to keep projects on track
Packaging & Sample Management
- Coordinate appropriate packaging solutions based on product type and transportation needs
- Oversee development and approval of packaging samples
- Ensure alignment between product, packaging, testing, and branding standards
Client Communication & Documentation
- Act as key liaison between Edco and clients on specs, samples, timelines, and costs
- Maintain accurate updates within client portals, including costing, artwork, factory information, and sample images
- Manage regional communication related to new development and reorders
Project Management
- Develop and maintain detailed timelines
- Track milestones to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Coordinate cross-functionally with design, operations, and account teams
Qualifications
- 5 years of Product Manager experience within a manufacturing environment
- Direct experience developing toys, novelty items, collectibles, souvenirs, or similar hard goods
- Proven experience working directly with international factories
- Strong understanding of tooling, molded components, and production processes
- Hands-on experience managing PP and TOP samples
- Experience initiating and negotiating factory costing
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent development timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
