This is how you will grow:
The Thermal-Mechanical Design Engineer will support the physical design, packaging, and structural integrity of thermal components for our electric vehicles. This role is crucial in translating thermal and system requirements into manufacturable hardware, performing detailed simulations, and managing supplier relationships.
- Mechanical Design: Lead the detailed mechanical design of thermal system components and supporting bracketry using CAD software, ensuring manufacturability and serviceability.
- Packaging & Integration: Optimize component packaging within the tight constraints of the vehicle, collaborating with vehicle integration teams and other thermal subsystem engineers.
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers on component design, development, and manufacturing processes, ensuring components meet specifications and cost targets. Evaluate "build-to-print" vs. "full-service" supplier models.
- Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for thermal components, considering thermal properties, durability, corrosion resistance, and cost.
- Problem Solving: Provide mechanical engineering expertise to diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues identified during testing.
Requirements
This is how you will take us forward:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in mechanical design for thermal systems, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V6)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in supplier technical management.
- Experience using CAE tools to assess designs (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus, Star-CCM ).
