eda consultants inc. is seeking a LICENSED PROJECT ENGINEER with 2-4 years’ experience. The person in this role will be responsible for engineering projects from beginning to end by contributing to the eda’s engineering department quality standards, project budgets, and project timelines.

Position Summary
The Project Engineer supports the design and delivery of civil engineering projects, including site development, grading, drainage, road design and utilities. This role involves preparing construction documents, performing technical analyses, and coordinating with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards.
PE Typical duties include:
- Lead the design and preparation of civil engineering plans for land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, road design and utility systems
- Perform detailed engineering calculations for stormwater management using CAD for design of hydrology/hydraulics, and erosion and sediment control
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met
- Prepare and submit permitting packages to local and state agencies, ensuring compliance with Florida regulations and municipal codes
- Review plans, reports, and technical documents for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and CAD designers
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including tracking budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure design intent is achieved
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, planners, and environmental consultants
- Support client meetings, presentations, and proposal development as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
- 2-4 years of professional experience in civil/site design, with a focus on site planning, grading, stormwater management systems, drainage design, road design, and soil erosion control
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ICPR, and Stormwater Runoff Design
- Strong knowledge of permitting processes and applicable regulations in Florida
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking and judgement capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a collaborative team environment.
